Makara Sankranti is the traditional harvest festival celebrated in Tamilnadu, State in India, Nepal and Srilanka. It is celebrated on January 14th, day where sun travels into the zodiacal sign of Makara in a celestial path. People celebrate this day by Kite flying and keeping the famous dish called Pongal, which is later served to sun god.
